Scripted Retirement

Scripted Retirement
This is my second blog in the “Scripted” series, I believe you all will enjoy this and Waheguru will bless me for keeping this series in continuation.
Script and Indians are very closely related as our script, what is more popularly called “Destiny” become functional even before our birth on the earth and creates several challenges and problems for facing in a scripted manner.
Indo- Australia test match series is on and in this cricketing land all eyes, from game lovers to selectors, officials of the game to politicians and even the international cricketing scenario is aiming only at the performance of “Prince of Kolkatta” just because Dada already announcement his retirement from the cricket of international level, this series is going to be last opportunity for this great fighter of the game and most successful Indian captain to be representative of motherland on the cricketing field.
There are many talks about the retirement of some senior players from the Indian Cricket team and most people don’t hesitate to say that Sourav Ganguli is the first victim of the policies of BCCI in this regard. Some television news channels have projected this retirement announcement as the scripted retirement under sweet name of “Golden Hand Shake”. There seems to be ample space available for this suspicious happening being a scripted retirement as just 15 days prior to retirement Gaungli was confident of at least two years cricket left with him.
If the retirement of Bengal Tiger is scripted one than surely the script for this start functioning since the Indian tour to Zimbabwe with the dispute between captain and officials. What more can be said about this script, at one time, one of official was reported for saying Ganguli will not be part of Indian team till he is in the selection committee. Country has witness a huge controversy on this issue and finally this great fighter was reselected into Indian squad though not in Captain’s capacity. Things doesn’t stopped here he was kept under such a constant pressure that even though he was getting runs but his confidence and killing attitude, which has made him most successful Indian captain of the history, was missing altogether. All this resulted in making Dada isolated and concentrated within self and look India has suffer all this in the formation of two groups senior and younger in the team. Fortunately or unfortunately meanwhile India went on to win the inaugural Twenty-20 World cup in absence of these five senior players and this almost closed the doors of ODI for these masters of the game. Here I would like to mention that this will be more appropriate to say Pakistan last the match rather than India won. Destiny was on the side of India and was forcing Pakistani players for committing unforced errors. While I am writing this, there is news quoting Ganguli that he was intended to be in the team on his own merits and not on the mercy of others [selectors] and continuously on going humiliating treatment which he was receiving has forced him to announce retirement.
Whatever may be it a scripted or normal retirement but one thing is sure tigers are always path creators and leaders and this great fighting cricketer sourav was, is and will remain known as Bengal tiger. This is certain that retirement announcement of Dada is going to prove a mile stone in the Indian cricket and will prove path indicator for the players for whom age has and will start playing role of all important hurdle.
Time will surly salute Dada for the cricketing skills and making the Indian squad who not only capable of winning the game but successfully takes the war on the fields of opponent and dare to response off ground tactics in the language used by the opponent.

India Travel Fun – Making of tourism fun

India Travel Fun – Making of tourism fun
My regular blog readers might be wondering over my long absence from blogosphere but a few of you might know about my professional life related with visulaisation of concepts and shaping them into informative source for the internet in the form of a web site or web portal. Since last 2-3 months I was over busy with my professional life, two of simultaneously on going projects renovation of http://www.thesindhuworld.com/ premier community portal of global Sindhi community and designing http://www.indiatravelfun.com/ a web portal dedicated to tourism of India. As both of these were time bonding projects so it was hard to find off time for my passion. The Sindhu World was completing two years on 29-08-2008 so the renovation work was to be completed before that and by the blessings of Waheguru we had launched renovated version of site on 01-09-2008 though http://www.thesindhuworld.com/ is still not matching with my dream designing but surely this new version is more user friendly and enriched with information.
We had decided, World Tourism Day [27-09-2008] as the deadline for launching our project http://www.indiatravelfun.com/ related to tourism industry and tourist info of India. Surely this second task was more stressful and truly a challenge for our creative team as there are numerous sites already exists for providing information about India tourism. The work started with searching of a suitable domain name, extensive search, a true long exchange of thoughts, and deep insight helped us almost finalizing the domain name and we were just one step away – making click on “Book this domain”, when all of sudden a lightening went through my thought process and finalized domain name was altered. For what purpose we use the word tourism, when another word “travel” best known to masses is there, surely just because this traveling is different, this is travel for the fun, starts with fun, loaded with fun and ends with fun hence before going online I was certain about the domain name and fortunately my search for http://www.indiatravelfun.com/ showed the availability of domain name so without vesting a single second, the domain name was booked.
As the work got momentum with designing the hugeness of information and time available started threatening us because visiting more than 150 cities which we intended to include in “City List” of the site in the time period of less than 40 days and collecting information related with Hotels and Travel agents for every city was truly high asking, finally this was decided to go with available information for the “Travel Tools” and for the rest provision should be made for the online registration. Major part of “Hotel and Travel assistance listing” is free so we believe all the Indian hotel owners, travel agents and tour operators will become part of this information as and when they came to know.
We are strong believer and confident about the utility of information available at http://www.indiatravelfun.com/ alike for the Indian and foreigner travel lovers just because the information is inclusive of 50 + Beaches40 + Churches50 + Monuments and World Heritage Sites25+ Gurudwara [Sikh Temples]50+ Hill Stations50+ Masjids & Dargahs200+ famous temples [Hindu & Jain temples]50+ Wild life destinations125+ Cities Once I had read somewhere “The best tool for sharpening your creativity is be critic of own”. Surely I will like to have a critic look at my own work and share my conclusions with all of you.

Political Bribery in India

Political Bribery in India

This is often said that even being the second largest human population, India is legging for behind as for as the controls of global markets are concerned, but at least news being telecasted on Indian television channels are proving this wrong because according to these news price of vote of a single M. P. for vote of confidence is something between Rs. 25 carore to 100 Carore. The most interesting thing is, this is happening of a country in which almost one third families are forced to fight their livelihood with daily family income less than Rs. 100 only.

On the 22nd July 2008, a strange happening took place in the parliament during the debate on motion of confidence moved by Prime Minister, due to withdrawal of support by Left parties. All of sudden few B J P , MP’s opened two bags and stated showing the Indian currency, which was allegedly handed over to them for being remain absent at the time of voting on motion of confidence. According to reports published in the news papers of 23rd July, this bribe offering people were in contact of these MP’s since last one week or so and these MP”s have a word about this with their party leader.

This was not the first incident of exposing the unconstitutional relation between money, power and politics because in the past also various television channels have conducted sting operations, in which representatives of channel were offering bribe and politicians accepting it. This time this happen in the parliament house hence not only the 22nd July will be considered as the most black of Indian politics but also the incident become center of focus.

Incidents of these kinds are giving birth to a series of questions because a clean and bribery less social life is the indicative of moral life of the country. A few questions from this series of questions are:

Is the accepting bribe is not a crime? If yes should these MP”s from BJP bee punished for this?
If the bribe offering persons were in the contact of MP’s for a period longer than a week, why the police complain is not lodged against them for this unconstitutional act?
Should the television channels be allowed to do Sting operations without informing or getting permission from constitutional authorities?
Offering a bribe is a crime in our country. Should some person be allowed to commit this crime under the sweet name of sting operation?
Should this recent Indian attitude of committing a crime for exposing the crime be allowed to grow and spread? Will this be beneficial for social and public life of the country?

I am concluding this series of questions with a thought provoking and discussion oriented point. In our country citizens have fundamental right for freedom of expression, why the MP’s and MLA’s are kept deprived of this and are forced to vote according to party whip or otherwise loose their membership to the house? Are the MP’s and MLA’s are elected to represent party in the house or to be present as the citizen representative of the area from where they won the election?

Why to Visit India

Why to Visit India

People often ask this question just because in the past this happens to be vision of some people to look at India as the backward, facility less and land of religiously divided narrow minded citizens where sufis and sadhus are busy in cheating huge illiterate masses. These people had tried to disperses their this wrong vision about the land of Vedas, Work field of Buddha and Mahatama Gandhi, a country among the top seven countries in terms of land, second in population, highly populated democratic set up of ruling, country with almost 1000 languages and dialects, a true diversity in religious faith with about 80% Hindu population but freedom for Muslim, Shikh, Zoroastrians, Jains, Buddhists and all other small communities, a country from which citizens have highest ratio in the technical staff of companies like Microsoft, Doctors, Engineers and other professional of which country are always in demand in European countries, America and United Kingdom and above all world’s most progress economy of last 2-3 decades.

I am aware of the fact many of you might undergoing the disputed and confused mental status about traveling and tourism in Incredible India, so I am putting another seven important reason for India tourism.

1] Probably India is the only country with a long, over 7000 kilometer long coastline, hence there is beyond imagining attractions for lovers of aqueous. Water streams of north Indian states like Jammu Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttara Pradesh etc. are ideal places for water sports like, for skiing, fishing, yachting, kayaking etc.

2] From Goa to Adman Nicobar Island you will find a great number of beaches. India is the only country where you can plan a beach tour for the duration of your vacation and still either you have to make hurry or leave something unseen for the next vacation.

3] There is Himalayan mountain range as northern boundary of the country; South and east are the land of Indo- Gangetic area, where as in the west one can find desert like Thar, with all these diversified landscape no other country can match with India in greatest opportunities available for the eco tourism.

4] Mountain Railways, included in the list of World Heritage Sites of UNESCO is a life time memory and one of major reason for visiting India. There are some luxurious train tours like “Palace on Wheel” where almost all five star tourist hotel facilities can be enjoyed while traveling. One can find these trains in many Indian states like Rajasthan and Maharashtra.

5] With being the land of World Oldest knowledge books “Vedas” and largest university at “Nalanda & Takshshila” country is in abundance with historical monuments. This is ideal place for historical research scholar and citizen having interest in knowing about the historical facts of development of human societies. Tajmahal of Agra included in Seven Wonders of the World is one of the major attractions of India tourism for the world travelers. India is also land of forts and Palaces [many of palaces are turned into tourist stay homes hence this provided a chance of living with kingly status] that creates opportunity in looking back into history.

6] Another tourist attraction for India tourism is religious tourism, Char Dham Yatra, Kailash Mansarovar are the famous pilgrimage traveling. Urse of Khaja Mainuddin Chishti, at Ajmer in Rajasthan attracts Muslim devotees from all parts of globe. Dharamshala in the Himachal Pradesh is major activity center of Dalai Lama, Sanchi is centre of Buddhist religion, Golden Temple Amritsar is the most scared worshiped place of Sikhism, In the states of Kerala and Goa not only higher population of Christians can be observed but also one can find many historic Churches, Cathedrals and monuments related with the history of Christianity. Cave temples of Ajantha, Ellora, Elephanta and Badami are also among the tourist attractions of India.

7] Along with diversity of human culture, customs and traditions, India is richer with the huge number of flora & Fauna, hence is an ideal spot for the nature lovers. There are numerous reserve forests, National Parks and Bird Sanctuaries with tourist stay facilities to welcome one who find it interesting and thrilling to watch the wildlife in natural habitat. Abundance of forests provides scope for herbal treatment of diseases, Kerala beaches are world famous for herbal body massage.

With the high speed roads, mega highways, government help for developing the infra structural tourist facilities, increased internal air travel facilities and economically less expensive India is turning into” treasure trove" in true sense. I am sure for your next vacation; your dream tourist destination will be none else but India, Incredible India, a traveler’s paradise in all means.

Tourism and Rains

Tourism and Rains

When any body thought of touring India, he/ she often advice to avoid planning the tour in the months from July to September, just because these months are the rainy season in India. This is decades old understanding that during this season Indian situations and infra structural facilities are not adequate to meet with these wet, cold and humid climates. Unfortunately commercial of some well known hotels located at some of famous Indian tourist spots and cities, offering a cut in price of packaged tours, prove helpful for making this myth more and more, stronger.

This was the fact that India have sufficient heavy rains and in the past roads were not equipped with the facility of facing the excess flow of rainy flood water as a result of which, often the roads get blocked for hours and hours, days and days. Surely in those conditions tourist were forced to stay at a particular spot for the duration longer than the planning and have to suffer economically, beside that they might also forced either to cut down some places from their scheduled tour itinerary or to extended their tour period.

Rain water had flown very heavily in these 60 years of independence and country has marched a long on infra structural front also, along with so many modernization steps and technological achievements. Most of the Indian roads barring a few remote and hilly regions are know equipped to face these seasonal flood situations and keep on going with traffic. This makes the above advice a myth in true sense.

Rainy Tourism in India

India being a country, rich with nature, flora and fauna, hence there are abundant opportunities for tourism in this season, as during this time earth goes under lavish green cover, water reservoirs gets filed with water and water falls starts getting over flowed.

India is country of festivals also and many of Hindu festivals like, Nag Panchami, Shrikrishan Janamashtami, Puri Rath Yatra etc. are celebrated during this season, hence this is the most appropriate time to visit and get experience of Indian life with ancient glory and present modernization along with having a look on nature at its best.

One has to plan the tour properly to enjoy fullest without much disturbance from rains. If we look in India rains gets starting with south India and goes on in the north direction, hence one should start the tour in July by visiting Kerala, witnessing mesmerizing water falls, boat race etc. and keep on moving in north to reach Mathura for the Janamashatmi [Birthday celebrations of God Shrikrishna].

India tourism goes to dead end in rainy season is purely a myth and you can prove it so by enjoying the Indian rains.

IPL Semi Final Roads

IPL Semi Final Roads

Most of the cricketing experts of the country and even the common cricket follower citizens were considering and rating Jaipur’s Rajasthan Royals [JRR] as one of the weakest team of the IPL at the start of the tournament, surely they will say this is the glorious uncertainty of the game that this Halla Bol squad become the first team to qualify for the semis.

There was nothing wrong with consideration as none of the blasting names like Sachin, sourav, shewag, Dhoni, Yuvraj, Sanath, Symonds, Eshant Sharma, Shoaib Akhtar, Bret Lee and so on was associated with JRR, In fact this is the only team which was unable to find a suitable Indian player from the selective chunk to lead the team and was depending on retired Shane Warne for the purpose.

Besides this our Indian attitude of looking at things and happening with specific economic vision was also responsible for this view towards the JRR by the critics and masses. We Indians have a tendency of establishing a relationship between price and quality, more we pay more we become assured of quality and surely the JRR is the team of players with lower remuneration.

I recall early days or rather the days before the actual start of the tournament, when all the eight teams have finalized their player, my son was discussing about the winner of the tournament. He was not just surprised but eventually was shocked to hear name of JRR from me. As like the most of Indians, three best teams for him were the Kolkatta Knight Riders, Delhi Dare Devils and Mumbai Indians. I was supporting the JRR from the day one just because to me T-20 is the place of exhibiting all round skills and Halla bol squad is composed from many players having this ability. Most of the players included in JRR’s Halla Bol squad have to prove worth of their playing skills from this or that point of view and this attitude was going to make them the most competitive and dangerous team of the tournament.

Individual efforts are the key to team success but surely the clubbed one and not the isolated. Look at the highest run scorer of the tournament, Gautam Gambhir, baring the last match, middle order of Delhi team failed on whatever chances they got and as the result Delhi team is left with option of praying God for the semifinal birth. At the time of writing of this, JRR and Kings XI have qualified and three other teams
Delhi with 15 points from all 14 matches
Chennai 14 points from 13 matches and
Mumbai 12 points from the 12 matches are beetling out for the remaining two semis slots. Eventually Delhi team is on the mercy of performance of rest of two teams. Chennai will go under the “Do or Die” status when tomorrow they will took ground against Hyderabad but before they need to keep a hawk-eye on the match of Mumbai with JRR as defeat in that match for Mumbai will not only almost block the entrance of Mumbai in last four but also bring a respire of relief for the Chennai as their win tomorrow will change the point table to
Chennai 16 points from 14 matches
Delhi 15 points from 14 matches
Mumbai 12 points from 14 matches
If the Chennai and Mumbai both loose their, these matches Delhi will qualify as the third semifinalist and forth one will be decided only after the match of Mumbai and Bangalore. Here Mumbai will under tremendous pressure as they will have to play not just for a win but also need to take care of over all run rates.

All these if’s and but’s will be going to get answer in next 72 odd hours but one thing is sure, last league match of the tournament between Kings XI and JRR, is going to prove the real thriller as both the team are already qualified so they will battled out just for the pride. Once again the Kings will be forced to face the music of Halla Bol.

IPL Broken Images of Cricket

IPL Broken Images of Cricket

The much talked, most awaited and creating records of beyond imagination payments for the cricketers, T-20 championship organized by BCCI, Indian Premier League is reaching to point of completing inaugural session with tremendous media responses.

IPL is unique in many ways this was not only the tournament in which sponsored paid in Lakhs of rupees for every run scored or every ball bowled by the star cricketers. This tournament also provided space for the breaking some of established norms and images of the game and players on and off the field. This was of thought of centuries that cricket is the game of gentleman but can we say the same after the opening biding of cricketers resembling with the slave market of old days?

Cricketing skills were the matter which was meaning most for the game but IPL has changed the vision, now in the cricket it is money that matters most. Look at some of Australian players, for whom India was the country with most discomforts and Indian players were not having value higher than the forest grass, all of them are not only staying for almost two months on this land of most discomforts but also playing in IPL under the leadership of Indian players, who were never looked by them even as human beings, surely the only reason is the monetary benefits. This is the financial influence of IPL which forced PCB to suspend the ban of Rawalpindi express Shoaib Akhtar.

IPL also broke the image of several established cricketing names, Look at the performance of Ricky Pointing, Shahid Afridi, V V S Laxman, Anil Kumbale and even Rahul Dravid.

Before the IPL the whole world was sounding with the voices of favoring younger generation for this shorter version of the game. Experience and cricketing skills started to be being under shadowed by the physical fitness; surely IPL has succeeded in broking this age myth. Look the best performers of tournament, majority of them are over thirty, till date highest wicket taker Shane Warne is no more representing his country, second fastest century scorer Santh Jayasuriya is of 39 years of age even the fastest century is scored by recently retired Adam Gilchrist. Though Delhi boys are calling “Uncle” to speedster Glem Mac Grath but surely the players who faced him in IPL have a kind of fear in their mind along with respect for this ace bowler. Diving catches of Sourav Ganguli, running back catches by Romesh Pawar and even the reflex ion return catch taken by Shane Warne surely are the practical lessons for youngsters about the fielding excellence.

IPL has also broken the myth of cricketing stars, over the years the game was revolving around the star performers. It was even beyond imagination the current status of Decan Recharges and Rajasthan Royals. At the start of tournament Hyderabad was among the favorites of winners of the tournament and Jaipur was among the weakest teams of tournament. Surely the presence of not so many star cricketers was the reason for considering Jaipur for this status. This surely the planned game of Halla Bol squad which proved once again that cricket is a team game and mutual efforts are more valuable than the star performers. Frankly speaking I am not discarding the star performers, they have their own values, they can win some matches for the team but for a constant good performance by the team they have to perform in tandem. Performance of Knight Riders is lowered after the home return of Maculum but even after the successive failure of middle order Delhi is performing satisfactory with support of their star materials Gautam Gambhir, Shewag and Shikhar Dhawan.

When the concept of T-20 was introduced it was thought that this format of game will prove helpful for increasing the dominance of batsmen and bowlers will be at the suffering end. IPL also proved this though a myth with the performance of Sohail Tanvir, Laxmipati Balaji, Amit Mishra and even the old wine Shane Warne. Till date most of teams have played 9 – 10 matches out of maximum 14 league matches and highest aggregated individual runs scored are just over 300 runs which mean just over 30 runs per match, where as the highest wicket tally is 14 which means 1.4 wickets per match. Here we have to keep this in mind that in every match batsman have chance to bat for all the twenty overs but bowler is restricted to bowl just four overs in a match.

I am concluding this in a very pleasant mood as my favorite IPL team Rajasthan Royals yesterday made almost certain a semi final birth for them by forcing Royal Challengers to bow down before the Hall Bol attitude. Team of the famous wall never looked in position of sustaining or overcoming the Hall Bol cricket played by this desert cricket team leading the point table. I feel sorry for the Delhi team as rain has taken a certain looking win from their hands with yet another defeat at the hands Kings XI.

Killer Last Over

Killer Last Over

This title “Killer Last Over” strikes my mind while watching the IPL match between Delhi Daredevils and Chennai Super Kings. This was an important game for both the teams as both have lost their last match, In fact Super Kings were the suffering end in their last two encounters. Neither of them was in mood and in situation to face yet another defeat and looked much desperate to record a win. Especially for Dhoni’s super Kings this was a do or dies game after two successive and humiliating defeats at hands of Rajasthan Royals and Decan recharges.

As usual coin favored lucky fellow Dhoni and he invited home team to exhibit their batting skills, might the last two batting collapse of the team forced Dhoni for this decision otherwise this is almost a set trend of Dhoni to bat first after winning the toss. Delhi openers Shewag and Gambhir were in mood of giving yet another demonstration for their firing start and Delhi went on to score 46 runs with both the openers at the central 22 yards long strip, but before the Dhoni feel guilty of committing a mistake, stamps at the batting crease uprooted twice for the home team.

Fielding side was assuming a relief breeze after these two dismissals but Gambhir and Dhawan made sure non existence of it, as this pair went on to register the highest partnership of the tournament. Delhi went on to finish the allotted 20 overs with formidable total of 187 runs.

Till the end of 19th over of batting of Super King all was demonstrating daring and devilish powers of Delhi as the opponent need to score 15 runs from the last 6 ball of their inning. M.S. Goni went on to stroke the first ball of the over for the maximum and this over proved the Killer one for the Devils as with the last ball Kings made sure the killing of the devils. This was not the first instance as previously one such over, when Rajasthan Royals utilized last six balls to score the required 19 runs for victory and discharge the powers of one of the stronger contestant team of the title. While writing this match of Kolkatta Knight Riders and Royal Challengers went under the same phase of Killer over as Royals challenger were need of scoring 19 runs from last over for a victory. Mark Butcher started the over with hitting Sharma’s first ball across the boundary on ground levels, but this time Eshant was with very rigid frame of mind not to follow Australian Symonds at least for this and made sure a 5 run victory for the Riders.

IPL images & reflections

IPL images & reflections

Cricketing world is under the phase of being redefined under the influence of IPL a T20 cricket tournament, a BCCI organized sponsored competition. Primary image of Indian Premier League [IPL] is a tournament organized to face the challenges created by Indian Cricket League [ICL] organized by a private body of former cricket players lead by Great Kapil Dev Nikhaj, ever first genuine all rounder and most inspiring captain of India and sponsored by Essel group. IPL is also looked as the efforts of BCCI for keeping the undisputed and undivided rights of conducting the game of cricket on Indian land.

Look at the dominance and inflow of money with the IPL. Sponsored have paid approx. Rs. 43 Lakhs for the solitary run scored by star Indian wicket Keeper Mahindera Singh Dhoni in the match against the Rajasthan Royals. Delhi’s speedster Eshant Sharma, playing for Kolkata Knight Riders, is bowling in the tournament at the unbelievable rate of over Rs. 1.3 lakhs per ball. A few Australian players, like Bret Lee, Pointing, Symonds etc. who played in 3-4 matches of IPL and returned back to join their National team for touring to West Indies, have landed on the kangaroo land with money purses heavier even then that of an Australian player might have only after playing for two years for the national team.

Dominance of IPL, which in fun often called as Indian Paisa [Money] League on Indian land, is very much clear from the Shoaib Akhtar episode. This speedster from Pakistan was banned for five years by PCB for misbehavior on and off the field. This fast bowler was supposed neither to represent country nor to play any kind of cricket in the Pakistan, however PCB has allowed him to play cricket in other parts of the globe without representing Pakistan. IPL rules are very clear about the playing of banned players so even being very much eager Kolkatta Knight Riders have denied the participation of this speedster. This is the true reflection for the influence IPL have on the world cricket that PCB has forced to adjourn the ban till 3rd June 2008 so Shoaib can play in IPL. [Earnings of shoaib from IPL is much higher than what many players might earn by playing five years for the national team of Pakistan]. Just consider on one side PCB chief initiating a judicial suit against this fast bowler and on the other side same PCB is making sure for a crystal clear way of participation in IPL by this star speedster.

Another reflective image of IPL lies with creation of new line of difference among the players [though this was in existence with English County Cricket but was not so deeper]. Prior to IPL, players were getting unanimous remuneration for their participation in same tournament representing same team. These unanimous and equal rates of payments are now deposited with history. Look at earning of some of young star performers of IPL like, Virat Kohali, Yusuf Pathan, Sohil Tanvir etc. they are going to earn for playing in whole tournament much lesser than what some of their other team mates might be earning for playing in single match of same tournament and representing same team. Surely this earning difference is working with the psychic of players, deeper this valley of difference of remuneration, more the ups and down in the performance of the team.

Look at team performance of Rajasthan Royals, at the start of tournament team was with the lowest ranking for winning the tournament and today when we are at almost halfway of tournament, this, Halla Bol squad of Rajasthan Royals are leading the point table, just because with this team the money difference valley is narrowest in comparison on other teams.

Last but not the least image of IPL, this tournament has not left anything unturned for making this gentleman game, a racecourse. Starting from the franchise of team to picking the players for the team, nothing was hidden, each and every thing was available for biding and all this was giving the look of crucial olden days of Slave market.

Positive and shining reflection of IPL lies with the performance by the Indian players which is on the way of proving that this is the tournament of dominance by Indians in the cricketing world. Highest Individual inning record is not with an Indian but a musical chair race is on between Rohit sharma, Gautam Gambhir and Shewag for being the highest run scorer of the tournament at present the “Orange cap” is changing hands in succession with them.

Pakitani speedster Sohil Tanvir exposed the magical rabbit under hat by taking record 6 wickets for just 14 runs while playing against the Super Kings but still Indian Irfan Pathan playing for Kings Eleven is the highest wicket taker of the tournament till date. All rounder Yusuf Pathan is miles and miles ahead of well known names from other countries and playing in IPL.

Coming to captaincy, the only foreign captain Shane Warne playing for Rajasthan Royals is on success run and creating new definitions for leading a cricket team but still with the daring decisions MS Dhoni and innovating inspiring game plans Shewag and Yuvraj are the front runners. It will be a genuine treat for cricket lovers from all part of world to be witness for the captaincy tactics, after a long time, of master blaster Sachin Tendulkar as and when he comes out from injury and start leading Mumbai Indians.

Historic Indus valley land: Sindh Part II

Historic Indus valley land: Sindh Part II
Before I start here, I feel this is my most obligatory duty to pay homage to ever inspiring memories of my parents Dadanbai & Dr. Premchand Manghirmalani, as whatever you are going to read are the memories of both of them, which I am trying to present with addition of some of recent facts.
Historic rulers & Political Status
On the political fronts life of land of Sind was started with the Vedic life style. Brahmanism and Buddhism also found this land for flourishing. Raja Dahar was the last Hindu King of Sind. This land in the Indus valley also witness ruling by the Somara Dynasty, almost for 200 years, Samma rulers for almost 100 years. Though Humayun visited Sind during the reign of Samma rulers but Mugul rule started only with the Emperor Akbar and lasted till the time of Nadir shah and before the British rule Sind was under the governing of Talpur Mirs. After the Independence in 1947 Sind become part of newly formed country Pakistan and presently is the second largest provision with Karachi being the capital city. It is a historic fact that Islam was propagated on the land of Sind under the influence of powers of sword [for details visit “Sindhi Deity Jhulelal” in the Sindhyat section of www.thesindhuworld.com] and Hindus were saved by Lord Jhulelal. If we go back to Vedic era, the north region of India, Pakistan and east Afghanistan were referred as the Sapta Sindhu in the Rig-Veda. For the travelers from Arab and Persia this sub continent was composed of two countries Hind [entire ancient India] and Sind [part of present Pakistan] in fact the names Hind and Hindu have origin with Sind and Sindhu.
Till the time of King Jayadarth [Mahabharat era] inhabiting population of Sind being called as Sindhi, was mainly of the follower of Vedic [Hindu] religious life style. As the land went under rule of various dynasties with different religious faiths hence the indigenous population was affected from the disciples of that religious faith. There was an infiltration of migrated population of Rajputs [Yadav & Parwar], Jatts, Baluchi, Arabs, Persians, Turk & Mugals and most of them got accustomed with social life of Sindhi, this might be the reason for the recognition of Shah Abdul Latif as one of greatest sindhi poet. It was time of rule by Mohamad Bin Qasim and period after that Islam also become a dominating factor in the religious world of Sind and as a fact in the present times in the Pakistan there is population of Sindhi Muslims also along with Sindhi Hindus, where as in rest of entire world most of the Sindhi population is of Sindhi Hindus. During the times of Sikh Guru, Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev sahib Sindhis were highly influenced with the religious thinking and ideology of Guru Sahib, might the resemblance with Hindu life style was the reason for that because it is a historic fact that in those times Islam was under propagation in Sind under the shadows of sword. The natural result is that though present Sindhi are looking at Lal Sain Uderolal [Jhulelal] as their deity but still recitation of Gurbani is the part of daily life for many Sindhi families and Guru Nanak Jayanti is among the most celebrated religious Sindhi festivals. After the partition in the year 1947 Sindhis along with Punjabis have been forced to migrate to India as situations at that time were not suggesting for being favorable for a future religious freedom in that part globe, though a considerable population of Sindhis was forced to stay there only due to the fact that historically sindhi cultural have roots with the river Sindhu. Barring a selective chunk who is still Hindu, majority of this Sindhi population has adopted Islam. In the religious world of migrated Sindhi, settled in India and other parts of the globe some Hindu based religious panths like Prem Prakash Mandal, Sant Mirankari Mission, Radhaswami started to be religious faith for considerable Sindhi population [For details visit Religious faiths at www.thesindhuworld.com ] .
Sindhi Language
Sindhi language is one among the Indo-European language which has a close resemblance with Arabi in script of writing [with 52 alphabets, written from right to left] and Sanskrit, Urdu and Hindi in spoken styles. After the independence from the British rule, especially in India there is a dispute over the script of Sindhi language as the interim at present for Sindhi language Arabic and Devnagiri scripts are used. Sindhi speaking population can be observed through out the world though the majority of population is with Sind [Pakistan], Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and the Union Territory of Delhi [India], Hong Kong, Japan, the Gulf countries [Asia region] beside that various cities in America, Australia, UK and South Africa also have considerable population of Sindhi speakers. Common spoken Sindhi is “Vicholi” dialect; other five dominating dialects of spoken Sindhi language are Siraiki, Lari, Lasi, Thari or Thareli and Kachhi. Leave apart the religious faith but this is fact that including the Sindhi Muslims almost 80% of population is Sind is of Sindhi speakers and this is an interesting fact that after independence till 1972 official language of Sind was not the Sindhi but Urdu which was spoken by population less than 10% of total population. Sindhis of Sind Pakistan, who at the time of independence opted for joining Pakistan, are feeling cheated and most worried by the dominating status and preference given to immigrant Urdu speaking Muslims being called as Muhajir and probably these are reasons for the movements like “Jiye Sind”. According to reports of World Sindhi Congress, Sindhi students are finding hard to get admission in Karachi University, which was among the major Sindhi educational institutions in the pre independence era.

Historic Indus valley land: Sind

Historic Indus valley land: Sind
Before I start here, I feel this is my most obligatory duty to pay homage to ever inspiring memories of my parents Dadanbai & Dr. Premchand Manghirmalani, as whatever you are going to read are the memories of both of them, which I am trying to present with addition of some of recent facts.
Geography and Statics
This was the Indus River commonly known as the river Sindhu [in the Sanskrit language Sindhu Means Ocean] which works for the fertility of this land and well being of native on its banks. In fact the this land derives name Sind from the river Sindhu, the name mentioned in world’s oldest knowledge books Vedas, more times even the holly river Ganga. Area wise Sind is larger than England in the lower Indus basin with Arabian sea Indian ocean in south, Plains of Punjab in north, desert extended to merge with Thar desert of Rajasthan in east and Khirtar mountain range in the west. The human population was in the proximity of 5 millions [at present about 50 millions].
The river Sindhu covers a length of almost 3000 kilometers and all most one third of it is in the Sind. This was common saying that this land is Gift of river Sindhu to human beings another such gift of nature is the Egypt of river Nile. Less rains and hot climatic conditions, average temperature above 30 degree Celsius with world’s hottest city Jacobabad being part of Sind, river Sindhu was working as the life line for the citizen. Among the major cities Dadu, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Larkana, Nawabshah, Tando Adam, shikarpur etc. of the sind, Hyderabad was the city with a some what pleasant climate and cool breezes while the Jacobabad and Sevahan were the among the hottest places of the region. [According to records of meteorological reports in the year 1919 mercury went to touch 52 degree Celsius at Jacobabad].
Economy
Sind was an agro based economy. The main crops were the Rice, wheat, cotton and sugar cane but rice was cultivated in abundance and Larkana was famous for its very fine quality rice crops though Dadu and Thata were not legging for behind in the cultivation of rice crops. Cotton was the main crop of Hyderabad and Nawabshah, and production of cotton has included sind on the world map of textile industry. Sugar can was cultivated in the southern parts. Sind was also producing good quality fruits like the Mango and Banana. Rice Mill was the main industry in the Larkana and Dadu districts.
Beside the agricultural and textile people of Sind were also earning very handsomely from their skills of pottery, leather work and art of weaving of carpets. Specific and very unique way of polishing the ornaments also brought considerable praise for the natives of Sind besides adding to their physical wealth. Mahoan-jo-daro have very distinctive illustration that native of Sind were well versed with these artistic works since the ancient times at least in the pottery.

Formal Chat

Formal Chat

It was to almost 11 pm and at my home all was set for going to bed, she was about to switch off the light when my cell started to sing “Azi ruthkar kar Kanha Jayaega, Jahana Jayaega Hume Payaega.” I was surprised, why Kishori is calling me at this time but the answer was only best known to him so I decided to pick the call not because I was much eager to know the reason but as I know the fact on the basis of my past experience if I don’t pick, Kishori will keep on disturbing at least for next 2 hours with numerous old songs and unfortunately today I was not in position of switching of my mobile as one of our relative was coming from Pune and was reaching Kolhapur late in night. For my new blog readers Kishori Lalsingh Pahalwan is a traditional wrestler who turned into politicians. Any way I picked the call and this was Kishori at other end.

My regular blog readers will surely recall my last meeting with Kishori Lalsingh Pahalwan for knowing his reactions for the recommendations of sixth pay commission. Before he complains about not meeting with him since last seven days, I promise him to be there in at his palace like house in the morning to give him company on his routine morning walk but before my wife put off the lights my mobile once started singing “Aayega Ayega Aayega Aanewala Aayega”, You correctly judged this was again Kishori for being sure about my company on morning walk on next morning.

Next Morning I was there but as this was raining so for a while we sit in open shed and with the sips of hot tea Kishori started the discussion. Netaji seemed bubbling with vocabulary as he started on the cricket a topic of my choice; apparently he looked worried over the recent development of Indian cricket team on the issue of senior and junior players. He was also not happy with BCCI, for not helping out to Sunil Gavaskar for the fight against the ICC, this supreme authority looked determine to force Gavaskar to leave the President ship of the committee on the issue of his criticize of match referee Mr. Proctor, on the issue of Sydney test between India and Australia.

We were on the walk on specially constructed covered footboard with the boundary walls of the house and hot tea was not proving sufficient to melt the ice of silence which started to get deeper and deeper between both of us. “S. P. Sir, how are your relation with Mr. Chandra?”

I was surprised at this sudden question but our previously on going discussion and my common sense spontaneously suggested me that Netaji might be talking about Shri. Subash Chandera, the chairman of Zee Television Network, so I replied “NO, Kishori Ji I never met with him, but what happen?”

“Nothing abnormal but there were reports that when you were in Delhi for the five day shooting schedule of “Public Ka Vittmantri” at Zee studios, he was also there so I thought you both might have developed a good understand for each other in these five days.”

I was wondering over the imaginary powers of Naetaji, what a thought as I and Subash chandera both were in the capital city of the country and not only both we meet but find time sufficient to develop understanding for each other, but my thought process was interrupted with the voice of Netaji.

“Look how he is working, he has engaged Mithun dada for giving fight to SRK in Kolkatta, I am wondering for his wisdom how he forget that original Dada [Sourav] is with us. I was thinking of conveying a message to him, as the Maharashtrian king of farmers is controlling the activities of the cricket in the country and presently he is not opposing the high command but in fact proving a great help for us at center in keeping the left parties under control, so activities of this type by him might provoke anger of high command and if it happen it will be much troublesome for his business enterprises.”

There was nothing to reply but the eager and concentrated eyes of Netaji were prompting me for being vocal but before this influencing atmosphere results in an action from my vocal chord, Neatji’s Cell started to sing “Aaya aaya Tufan, Bahaga Bhaga shaitan”. I don’t know who was at the other end but this call has disturbed kishori such that he dropped his routine walk and we started to return back. I asked permission to go back to my home; Netaji was still in some what worried mood and told me.

“Sir ji, keep in touch and keep on visiting at regular intervals and yes do think of my today’s question about cricket and do come with some positive thoughts for our next meeting”.

I left Netaji with his cell phone which by this time have started to sing “Jina Yahan Marana Yahan Iske Siyai Jana Kanhan”.

She in sixth pay commission

She in sixth pay commission
Salary is the most important matter, that means most for the employees, hence first day of month – salary day – holds greater value than any thing else in the life of salaried class. Even the imaginary world of silver screen is under the magical effect of this world “Salary” and hence since the year movie heroin says like this to hero and who sings:
“Bibi Boli Ghar Zara Jaldi Se Aana, Sham Ko Piyaji Humko Cinema Dikhana,Karo Na Bahana, Aaj Pahali tarikh Hai.” [Wife says, Come a bit earlier in the evening and take me for the movie, Oh! Dear don’t give any excuse after all today is the first day of month]
Things have changed a lot since the shooting and presentation of this song on the silver screen and Indian women had progress to status at which instead of waiting for the salary day of husband she is working to get salary for the self.
Recently the sixth pay commission submitted recommendations with almost 40% salary hike. I thought of knowing the reaction of people over these recommendations specially those which have a relation with women employees. Like increase in leave period and hike of education allowances for two kids etc. the first person which visualized in my mind was Mr. Kishori Lal Singh Pahalwan, a wrestler by family tradition who turns into politician and presently working for the social welfare of women. This is another thing that three on going court cases of crucial and abuse behavior with women [two by his divorced wives and third one by present wife] hardly keep him free, but being very influenced person he is treated as the most active politicians of the area.
I reached to his place looking house at the out shores of city early in the morning because this is the only time when he can be in normal mood. Kishori was preparing to have a routine walk and ask me to company him for the purpose of saving time. Since the Netaji is a wrestler by family tradition hence he never forget to have a morning walk for at least 4-5 Km, due to this habit he never go away from the city and his house other wise he is with all the political qualities of a national leader. Since he become active in the politics it become hard for him to keep the routine of morning walk as if he goes out complaining common people force him to interrupt his walk. He talked with high command on this matter and state government asked the city authorities to allot him the land kept reserved since several years for constructing stadium for his residential purpose. In the long green back yard of this residence we were walking.
“Have you heard about the recommendations of sixth pay commission?” my world tried to break silence of last five minutes.
“Yes! Though I have not seen the details but is sure whatever recommendations Justice Shrikrishna have made, all of them were in accordance of will of high command” Kishori replied.
But Sir?
“No No” I was forced to stop by high pinched voice of Netaji. “Don’t use any harsh words, we are leaders of public and if we stop thinking about the welfare of deprived working class people, where these people will go?”
“But sir, I was intended to know your reaction for the recommendations made by sixth………..”
“You critics? I think even God is not able to satisfy you” I was wondering how this word criticism entered into our conversation but It is has nothing to do with Netaji. He kept on saying
“Look since the centuries Indian women are in the phase of secondary social status. What is harm if we are trying to give her 50% reservation in the politics after all they constituents almost half of the country population”.
Netaji was in the full swing of bombarding me with words and I prefer to play the role of silent listener.
“High command is much concerned over the recent social trend of pre birth killing of girl child and probably this the reason for withholding women reservation bill, other wise this might have been presented in the parliament many years ago” Netaji stopped for a while.
“But sir, I was trying to know about the sixth pay commission “I tried once again to get reaction.
“We know that, but did you know how hard is for the Indian women to work in the office after looking at domestic house hold works?” I was forced to move my head in negative style.
“If we are giving a little bit relaxation to her while she works in the office, what is wrong in it? I say nothing is wrong; after all we are working to provide her a little bit relief for the sufferings of centuries.“ Netaji stopped to have a deep breath in the pleasant morning air and I thought, this is the most appropriate time to get back to home for my routine work of blogging.
I failed to get reaction of Kishori Lalsingh Pahalwan but I request you all not to behave like the Netaji and express your reactions for my, this blog at the space provided below for the comments.

Cricketing controversy

Cricketing controversy

It is often said success always try to run into your head and at least at present most of the Indian cricket lovers and former players are of the opinion that success is running into the head of Indian captain M S Dhoni especially after his statement about the inclusion of the senior players into the plating squad for the ODI.

Why there is so much unrest and anguish for the Dhoni? If we look at the history of the game, this is always the captain of the team who is blamed most for the defeat of the team and has to face the criticism, even at some times is forced to leave the captaincy of the team. It is still alive in the memories that not only S. Shrikant [after the defeat in Pakistan] but many more Indian captains have gone under the same situation. In these conditions if a captain is expressing his preferences and priorities about the team composition and asking for selecting team of his choice than what is wrong in it?

We are living in the age of professionalism and killer instant has become the most important aspect of the game for the winning. Every captain is supposed to come out with a definite game plan for the victory. Cricket being the team game one has to depend a lot on the performance of other players of the team as for as winning is concerned. In these conditions it is natural right of the captains to have the players in the team who can be the most suitable for implementing his game plan for the victory.

If we look at Dhoni’s statement in this context nothing will appear abnormal and he can be appreciated for having a clear attitude but one thing which might Dhoni forget and which is causing the evolution of this storm is that we are Indians and we have a great respect, higher than human from any other part of the world, for our elders and heroes. When we talk of senior players like Sachin, Dravid, Sourav Ganguli or Even Laxman all of them have a proven record of serving the game and playing for the pride of nation. There abilities and commitment towards the game is beyond doubts and have given their best years of life for the success of Indian cricket team more ever still their game skills and playing abilities specially of sachin Ganguli are adequate to meet with the modern demands of the game even in the ODI format of the game. Secondly still in our country, sending the old aged parents to old age homes is treated as the mark of failure in fulfilling the responsibilities.

Players like the Sachin and Sourav have done a lot for the game and still they are performing well hence as the mark of respect we must leave it with them when they decided to call it a day for themselves. Here, I would like to quote Ishant sharma, when after returning from successful tour of Australia, he was asked about the experiences there, his reply was the that the most moral boosting thing of the tour was the sharing the thoughts and game plan with the players like Sachin, who had spend years on the cricket grounds almost equal of his age. Surely the physical abilities of human beings are always show a decline with growing age but that doest prove sufficient to mark end for the utility of the person concerned. The age factor has started to work against the fielding capacities of these senior players but still their talent, commitment and experience are compensating their this shortcoming and more importantly they are working for guiding the younger players and helping to build the future team by their presence in the team.

Can Dhoni even dare for dreaming of defeating Australia in Australia if he can keep performance of senior players like Sachin apart? The killing instant and aggression which is shown by the Indian team in the recent one year or so is an overnight developed attitude? Surely not, the present killing instant, zeal of winning and will of raising the performance under the pressures are the result of hard work and dedication of the players like Sachin Sourav and Dravid for over the years, considering all this we cay surely Dhoni has done a thing which doesn’t stands with the moral behavior of Indians.

If we go with the verbal meaning of statement given by Dhoni, This is objectionable at least the timing and way is surely but if we look at this as the attitude it will look a very great vision. Any way it will be more interesting to see reaction of Dhoni for such statement in coming few years. After all players like Sourav Ganguli, the most successful and inspiring captain has been force to leave the space vacant for captaincy by other and same will happen with Dhoni in few years from now. Most probably Dhoni missed that, surely it is the youth who can build the future building but this is to be build on the foundation stone provided by the elderly persons.

Twist of Selecting Indian Cricketers

Twist of Selecting Indian Cricketers

The mighty Australians are still not able to digest the ODI home series defeat at the hands of young Indian team and Indians are willing to keep continue to be in celebration mood for the this victory and winning of under 19 world cup cricket on the same day. As the world witness many sunrises since these two happenings hence the things started to settle down in to history book.

It is often said that every sunrise is bound to bring new hopes and new challenge together. Sunrise of this March 17th is going to bring a genuine challenge for the selectors of Indian cricket team as they have to pick the team for the home test match series against the newly ICC ranked No. 1 team of South Aferica. The twist of selection lies in the untold war of seniors and youngsters and gets more twisted turn with the report of physical trainer about the fitness problem of many players. It is fact that in the recent almost one year dominance of youth has been increased in the Indian team but no one will dare to deny the role played by the seniors in the recent victories of the team.

Forget about the selection committee because they know their job better and Indians are become habituate to bear the shock of one / two unexpected inclusion / exclusion in every selected team. Here we will try to find out the ideal composition of the cricket team.

The ideal composition of team is the five batsmen one wicket keeper batsman and five specialist bowlers with at least one batting all-rounder. Considering the Indian strength over the years with the aspect of batting and spin bowling and recent development of speedsters the ideal composition of team will be six batsman, one wicket keeper and four bowlers.

India is emerging as the new champion in the world cricket not of recent wins like the Twenty-20 World cup, beating Australia in Australia and winning the under-19 world but because of the strong bench strength on which Indians seems to be marching ahead of rest of the world.

Though it is said openers are the problems for the Indian team but look at options available for the selection committee
1. Gautam Gambhir
2. Wasim Jaffer
3. Aakash Chopara
4. Virendra Shewag

When we turn to middle order the option range become much more, wider with
1. Rahul Dravid
2. Sachin Tendulkar
3. Sourav Ganguli
4. V V S Laxman
5. Yuvraj Singh
6. Suresh Raina
7. Robin Uthappa
8. Mohd. Kaif
In the bowling department options available for the selection include the names [Zahir Khan being not fit is excluded from the list]
1. Anil Kumbale
2. Harbhajan Singh
3. Piyush Chawala
4. R. P Singh
5. S. Shreesanth
6. Ishant Sharma
7. Praveen Kumar
8. Murali Kartik
Indian players are facing the pressures of long schedules ahead of them at least till the end of this years they have to play back to back matches and series and surely it will be a true test for them to play the IPCL in famous Indian hot summer of months of April and May though the matches will be played late in the evening and will completed in just three hours but being of twenty 20 format, these three hours will be sufficient to absorb much of water from the fitness ocean of the players. Keeping all this I will pick the following 15 players [in order of batting]

1. Virendra Shewag
2. Gautam Gambhir
3. Rahul Dravid
4. Sachin Tendulkar
5. Saurav Ganguli
6. V V S Laxman
7. M S Dhoni
8. Irfan Pathan
9. Anil Kumbale
10. R. P Singh
11. Pravin Kumar
12. Ishant Sharma
13. Yuvraj Singh
14. Robin Uthappa
15. Piyush Chawala

I had preferred to rest Harbhjan just because of long schedule ahead and give yet another go for the young Piyush chawala to prove his worth. Having just one spinner in the playing eleven might also invite criticism from the giants of the game but considering the ability of rolling the arm over of Sachin and Shewag I can justify my selection however picking the playing eleven will be the right of team management who will be in better position to have measures of ground realities on those particular days of match. There is dispute over the fitness of Yuvraj and if he is rule out this ground I will prefer to include Suresh Raina, even S Badrinath who is not included in the options any where might get consideration here.

We the Indians

We the Indians

It is said that we are living in the democratic set up with all the freedom of expressing self and raising a voice to protest if any injustice at any walk of life. Have you ever though about these expressions and protesting voices? How much these are real and our own one?

At different walk of life we come across with the bios behavior of livings from the human world. The most recent one which may be quoted as the illustration is one that of Mr. Proctor, ICC match referee, at Sydney cricket test match between India and Australia. Australians had put allegation of racial comments against the Indian off spinner Harbhajan and even in the lack of decisive evidences match referee went on to punish Indian players, in the vision of Indian media this was the classic example of bios behavior, thanks that ICC appeal commissioner disagreed with the views of match referee and the probable division of cricketing world has been avoided. Don’t you think there is a little bit truth in the views of Australian media that decision of ICC appeal commissioner is influenced by the monetary powers held by BCCI in the cricketing world?

Look at Indians how easy to influence our thought process just because we are living with national quality of very short memory with an attitude of compromising with the situations with almost nil opposition. It is not the recent development that, though it appears like that, politicians always find ample space to get our emotions going on fire even for the issues which can be ignored continently for the sack of safe guarding of our social life. Look how the numerous televisions channels in the country are exploiting us for their huge economic gains. These channels are prompting us for being active on the issues nothing to do with our day to day life, neither day have an impact on our personal or social life. The most recent one is number game dispute among the Aamir Khan and Shahrukh Khan [the two actors from bollywood]. Does this number game war is going to affect life of common Indian in aspect? Surely the answer will be negative one but still these channels are projecting it as the most important happening of Indian social life and prompting people to express one’s views over the issue by SMS, so it can add enormously to the earnings of channels.

British rulers were aware of this attitude of Indians; hence they start working on it for influencing Indian thoughts for safe guarding of their rule over the country. They had opted education system for the purpose because any other method is capable of influencing one generation for a shorter period where as the affects produced through the education system not only goes for a considerable larger / huge period of time but also go on affecting generations and generations. Unfortunately after the independence no serious vision has been developed towards the educational system and almost the same system kept in continuation, look at the results, present Indian youth is considering self as the improvised version of human beings over own parents. The worst and dangerous scenario is that youth as started to treat the older generations as primitive one, unable to cope with changing times and subsequently making self deprived of rich life experiences of parents and grand parents. All this is prompting youth to fall pray of confusing thoughts and conflict over the choice of life style and thus get own life encircled with numerous avoidable pressures and stresses.

Look the effect of these influenced thoughts process; it keeps us so busy that we are unable to concentrate on the important issues of the life. How and to what a great extant we are fearful about the AIDS that we are not able to even think of non moral behavior of younger generations, being created as the result of their early exposure to condoms and other contraceptives, which are hugely advertised as the mean for the safer sex to safe guard one from this deadly disease AIDS. Is the AIDS more deadly in compare of the development of social attitude of youth by these aggressive advertisements? In fact it has increased the sexuality in our social life to such a great extant that in a country where women was worshiped as the Goddess in the past, presently is unable to find a safer place for calm and fearless existence.

I believe my this writing will sufficiently influence your thoughts and surely will prompt you for giving a second thought to things before acting and expressing reactions over a social happening.

Educational Outsourcing

Educational Outsourcing

Internet is no more a source of immense information and knowledge, in fact for the Indian students, house wives and retired persons it is emerging as the source of employment opportunities as in the America and European countries demand for the professionals for the educational tuitions is growing at very vigorous rate and these countries are looking at India as the outsource for the purpose.

Outsourcing is the term used for completing own work with the help of external agency. As there is lot of Indians with good command over the English language and computer skills and technological excellence of country is on the constant boost hence the country is emerging as the most reliable and trusted source for the various types of outsourcing. Comparatively low human labor rates than European countries and America are also helping India in this arena.

The recent trend of outsourcing is “e-tuitions”. Look at the per hour rates of private educational tuitions in U.K. [26 to 30 ponds] and America [45 to 50 $] but if an Indian is engaged for e-tuition the expense is reduced to something between Rs. 300 and Rs. 500 only. This is happening because traditionally Indian women are house wives and modern educated one are grabbing this chance because it provide facility of working from home and that too in the leisure time. Indian students perusing higher studies like the in Engineering, Medical and Management faculties are utilizing their after study time for earning handsomely. There are many I. T. companies from America and Europe working on the rate difference and earning many time more than any individual tutor.

e-tuitions have a kind of social effect on the life of Indians beside the economic gains. In the western world there is an emotion of hate for the hardworking talent Indians with a common complains that Indians are reducing the job opportunities for the natives. This educational outsourcing is proving turmoil for the fire as here Indians are getting jobs even without landing on the land of that particular country.

If we look at the essential requirements for the e-tuitions one needs a good computer, internet with sufficiently high speed and with VOI facility and a good quality web camera. All this is not a huge investment and even available at net café’s of many cities in the country. The dominance of Indians can be reflected from the fact that over 70% e-tuitions of U.K. and USA are given by the Indians. There are very high chances that future professionals of these countries will be one, educated by an Indian teacher.

Train in the Sky [Journey to Delhi]

Train in the Sky [Journey to Delhi]

Surprised to read the title, how unknowingly to me, Indian railway has gone to such progressed status? This might be the question you may be asking to self? No dear still the services of Indian railways are limited to terrestrial faculty only, I am talking about the “Budget Air lines” opening a new, affordable and time saving travel alternative available for the Indians.

I was bit excited on the morning of 5th February 2008 as it was first chance for me to board on a domestic flight covering the distance between Pune and Delhi. The first thing which surprised me was the instruction of Airline “ We prefer reporting time two hours prior to schedule time of flight”, as I was traveling from Kolhapur to Pune by train, which was schedule to reach at Pune early morning, well ahead of schedule time of flight, so it was not a problem for me.

My son’s friend Deepak was waiting for me at Pune station, after detraining he took me to Pune Air port at Lehgaon, where we sit for discussion on share market and mutual funds. I was traveling Delhi for the shooting of first nine episodes of “Public Ka Vittmantri” and as this was one of the nine topics on which every participant was supposed to express the expectation of common people from the forthcoming union budget of the country. Deepak being an investment guide was the perfect person to learn more about the faculty.

At about 10:30 Deepak asked my permission for reaching to his office on time and after that I was there at the front desk of “Indigo” after handing over my check in luggage I was with boarding pass and about 80 minutes of time before the boarding. Really it was pity that at waiting lounge Tea was almost tasteless and I was forced to go out to have one with smoke at canteen outside. Surprisingly I was allowed to step out even with boarding pass.

Almost one hour before the schedule time we have been asked to proceed for security check in and wait in the departure lounge. Fan wings of the plane started moving almost 15 minutes after the schedule departure time. I asked the lady from the cabin crew after we were stable in air for some biscuits and water. The service was very prompt but I was still drinking the water she returned back and asked me for paying Rs. 20/- for the two pieces of cookies, for which you might not preferred to pay even Rs. 5/- while buying from the market. The surprised were still not finished as I have to wait almost one hour for collecting my check in luggage at Delhi Air port. Yet another surprised was stored there for my return journey by “go air” where even drinking water was the paid service.

I am not objecting for the paid catering service, my objection is with the quality and rates, when the air line companies are realizing that they have to remain within the budget of middle class economy on the fare fronts why the same realization is not visualized for the catering? Surely paying something between the Rs. 80 and Rs. 150/- for a vegetable sandwich or Rs. 10/- for a 200 ml drinking water bottle is not within the affordability of Indian middle class economy.

As for as the leg space is concern it was even narrower than the leg space of 2X2 Asiad buses but as the most of the passengers were traveling a distance to be covered in the duration of 2-3 hours hence this can be taken as the avoidable discomfort.

My, this travel experience will remain incomplete for me if I forget to mention Mr. Bharat, the cook at guest house of Zee at Delhi. Host in true sense, humble in nature, a person with ability of understanding your choice of food within seconds. As the concluding remark I wish to thank Mr. Dinesh Joshi [from Zee Business] producer of “Public ka Vittmantri” for taking efforts for making my stay at Delhi comfortable.

Loans and Farmer Suicides

Loans and Farmer Suicides

Indian mornings are become used to read / watch news of suicide by the farmers especially from the states of Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. As the economic growth of the country is going high so the tendency of suicide is increasing among the Indians, surely this is matter of analysis is there any relation between the economic growths and suicidal death tolls?

Statistical figures are suggestive that if we compare the farmer suicide tolls in the era after 1991, the year of start for the second phase economic reforms in the country, with the time prior to that, we are bound to find that in the recent times death tolls are many times higher to era prior to 1991. I am just an awake citizen neither an experts of human psychology nor have much experience in the field of consumer and personal loans, however my findings might prove sufficient to suggest solution roads for the experts of the field and governments.

Liberal economics policies of Indian government are working for raising the economic growth rate and GDP of the country. Markets are not going under the phase of deficit of liquidity. Ample amounts are available for the taking in the form of various loans from the banking sector and financial companies. Indian markets, over crowded with commodities of physical comforts are proving almost non resistible temptation for the Indians who are looking forward to raise the living standard with the availability of these commodities at home. Just look at life of common Indian, not only in the cities but also in the village mobiles have become essential for normal living. A significant growth in the family earnings and too much easiness in availability of loans are the prompting factors and increasing the buying powers of middle class Indians. I have tried to look at city life of medium population cities like the
Kolhapur and surprise to know that almost every forth person from the business class and working class is in the loan web if not for more at least for one type of loan. In the villages of developed states like the Maharashtra, Punjab and Andhra Pradesh etc. situations are more resembling with the life of small cities and might this be the root cause of increased suicidal tendency.

In the agricultural sector Indians have covered miles and miles on the road of progress. Increased irrigation facilities and supportive activities like the poultry and milk producing cattle are working for boosting the earning capacities of the farmers. It is a fact that still a lot of Indian land is without irrigation facilities and factors like the increasing competition and high going expenses of meeting with care of birds and cattle are proving obstacles for the farmers for being with sufficient liquidity of money. Uncertain climatic conditions like the heavy or less rain, extreme high or low temperatures are also working for the decline in the income of farmers. In all these situations, loans taken not only stands as it is but keep on increasing with the interest and penal interests of banks, co-operative societies and financial companies. If one can work on the number of ceased vehicle by the finance companies for non payment of EMI’s the picture will be clear about the repayment capacities of small city and village population of India.

It is often said loans/ Debts are the guest of the life; they entered into your life with greeting, welcoming you as the realization of dream and keep on living and growing with you. Only very strict and time bound economic disciplines are the only remedy for getting rid of these. Is the common Indian farmers are with the wisdom of having such capacities? Is the question and answer to this is, where the solution for the suicidal tendency is lying.

Cricket Kings

Cricket Kings

At last the test series between Australia and India ended and as per the Australian plans Australia won the series with 2-1 to keep their winning record intact though their image of being the undisputed kings of cricketing fields is not as the same as was prior to this series and even the ground behavior of Australian players and sportsmanship were put under the question mark at several occasion during the series.

This series will be remembered for the disputed umpiring decisions favoring Australia, allegation of so called racial comments by Harbhajan and controversial decision of ICC match referee Mr. Proctor over this issue. The issue sounded to such great extant that at one stage it was threatening a division among the cricketing nations of the world. Thanks to decision of excusing Harbhajan from such serious but base less allegations by the ICC appeal commissioner as neither there was any decisive evidence for supporting so called allegations nor even Andrew Symonds was able to recall the exact words of Harbhajan. However Harbhajan is punished with 50% cut in match fees for using abuse words on the ground in response of controversial exchange of words started by Australian player Symonds.

This is appropriate time to look in to the background of all this. Over the years sledging was the effective weapon of Australian cricketers on the ground and no one from the rest of world was not in competition with them at least in this aspect. Since last one year or so young Indian cricketers not only started to tackle this successfully but also started to answer in the language of Australians. This forced Australia to get exit from semifinal of inaugural T-20 World Cup held in South Africa. The war of supremacy on the sledging grounds was at the peak during the Australian cricket tour to India last year and Andrew Symond, Harbhajan and S Shrisanth were the front runners, unfortunately Australians found themselves on the losing side. Hence this tour by Indian cricketers has been taken as the revenge grounds.

Australian players and media are taking the decision of the ICC appeal commissioner not as the justice but as the victory of money powers of BCCI with blaming the Cricket Australia for bowing down under the pressures of monetary powers. How wrong they are? If the ICC was favoring the Indians was it possible that Harbhjan is punished for responding and Andrew Symonds, who himself admit, who initiated this controversial word exchange will be allowed to escaped from being punished? No dear this is pure justice though Symonds was guilty of taking the initiative but Harbhajan was punished for using abused language. Surely in the present times escaping from the temptations of the money powers is almost impossible. I wish to put a question for all the Australian cricketers, many of them are participating in IPCL a tournament being organized by BCCI in the hot summers of Indian climatic conditions and paying very handsome amounts to players, If the Australians players are thinking they are with the resisting abilities for the powers of money, let it prove by saving self from dehydrating Indian heats and opt to keep self away from this tournament, remember this tournament is not going to be played for the national pride and glory. This is a professional league tournament in which players will play for the city which can bid most for them. It sounds funny that a person available in the market for a bid is blaming others for acting under the pressures of money powers.

Most of the cricketing world is looking this as the end of sledging war between the players of two countries where cricket is much more than just a game. Frankly speaking still some suspecting snakes are on the move in my mind, as S Shrisanth was not part of Indian Test squad and now is in Australia for the tri angular ODI series. In all probabilities Australian players will not leave any space vacant for irritating Shrisanth and warm blood of this young Indian speedster might response on the lines of Harbhjan, after all Shrisanth is more vibrant in expression of aggression on the ground when compared with Harbhajan. There are some chances that might the Harbhajan face some adverse comments from the Australians during the ODI series. Let us hope things will not take the same turn again allowing cricketing lovers from all part of globe to respire with relief and enjoying the game in coming days.

Yet another defeat of mind game on the cricketing field

Yet another defeat of mind game on the cricketing field

As it was predicted Adilede test match between India and Australia ended with the assured and planed result by Australian players of draw. Though in the pre lunch session on the fifth and final day Indians scored runs at strike rate of about 4 runs per over but again Australians with slow over rate of just 12-13 over per hour succeeded in keeping India deprived of to be with time for declaring second inning and sufficient time to bowl out Australia in the second inning.
Adilede proved the surface of liking of Ricky Poiting [who criticized Perth pitch for being more supportive for bowlers and Australia lost the test in four days] as here five batsmen succeeded in hitting the knocks of ton, 3 from Australia and Sachin and Shewag from India. The Adilede will be remembered for the Yet another century by master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, 100 test wicket and 1000 test run double by Irfan Pathan and retirement of Australian star wicketkeeper batsman Adam Gilchrist.
Fifth day’s play of cricket was also witness the reintroduction of famous Australian non cricketing tool called “mind game” into the playing arena. The Australians, who are at back foot on the moral grounds and in the fields of sportsmanship, came forward with statement of producing some new evidence in the case of so called racial comments allegation against the Indian off spinner Harbhajan Singh. The new evidence is the transcript of recording by stump camera. I don’t think that ICC match referee Mr. Proctor had ignored this, in the conditions of lack of decisive evidences and even when the ground umpires were not supporting the allegations. Surely Mr. Proctor had gone through this before reaching to decision. As I recall in those this news was in the air that stump camera were unable to record the conversion between Harbhajan and Symonds. So the question is now from where this recording is made available? If the ICC match referee Mr. Proctor in these conditions had ignored this important aspect, surely it will prove more than sufficient for putting a question mark on the reliability and ability of ICC officials.
To me this has nothing to do with evidences; all this was the part of mind game tool of Australians players aiming to disturb Indians players so might like the Sydney test they got out cheaply and Australians will have a go for easy victory target. Unfortunately Indians have started to understand the game plans and non cricketing tactics adopted by the Australians over the period of last 10-15 years with more clarity than past and started to answer in their language, Shewag slow down his game in post lunch session and till tea in the play of 2 hours scored less than 30 runs and make sure that Australian game plan “mind game” ends with failure.
Anyway the test match series is completed but the forthcoming ODI series is still hanging in the atmosphere of speculations and doubts. In the next 48 hours appeal of Harbhjan will get decision from the ICC appeal commissioner. Indians player and BCCI are determined to withdraw from the series in case of adverse decision. Practically also They should be, because there are no decisive evidence supporting allegation, Symonds already admitted that he was the initiator for the disputed conversation between him and Harbhajan, Hyden is unable to recall the words of Symonds, ground umpires are not supporting the allegations and above all the most trusted personality of cricketing world Sachin Tendulkar, who was at pitch with Harbhjan at that time had endorsed Harbhjan’s statement of not using word “Big monkey” for the Symonds.

Let us hope for the justice and lifting of the bam from Harbhjan so the cricketing nations may remain united and should not divide on the racial and regional grounds.
